I'm Nabeel Nashid - 17, Self-Taught, and Building the Future with Code and AI

I was born on December 30, 2008, which makes me 17 years old right now. I write code, build full-scale business systems, and run an IT company. But the way I got here isn't a straight line - it's a story of boredom, curiosity, and a deep obsession with figuring things out. This article is a complete look at who I am, what I know, everything I've built, and exactly how I work.

The 8th Standard Boredom That Started Everything

My coding journey started in 8th grade. My parents were in Qatar, so I was living at my grandma's house. School would end before 4:00 PM, but the bus to my grandma's place came only at 5:30 PM, and the next one was around 6:30 PM. That left me with this massive, frustrating window of absolutely nothing to do. I had a phone, but scrolling through it got boring fast.

I'd always been interested in games - when I was even younger, I'd built some basic, honestly useless mobile games just messing around. So one day, I walked into an institute near my school and asked if I could get admitted to a game development course. They didn't have one. No game development, no website course, no app course - nothing like that. But they said they had a Python basics course. I didn't think twice. I just said yes and joined.

And Python - seriously, Python is the coolest language I've ever seen. It can do anything. From that moment, Python became my favorite. That decision, made purely out of boredom, changed everything for me.

Choosing Web Development and Hitting the JavaScript Wall

After Python, I started thinking more practically. Like most people, I wondered: which developers actually make good money? I looked around, read what average people were saying, and found my answer - web development was the path I wanted to take.

I discovered DebugMedia, a YouTube channel that made web development make sense to me. I genuinely liked his videos. I learned frontend development through them. But then came JavaScript - and it traumatized me. It was honestly crazy. I got completely exhausted trying to wrap my head around it.

During those tough learning phases, I survived on Stack Overflow, W3Schools, Reddit, and basically every resource I could find. They gave me better ideas and helped me push through - until I found ChatGPT.

AI Changed Everything - Here's the Truth I've Learned

When ChatGPT came along, it felt like magic. I didn't realize back then that this technology would replace millions of jobs and hurt the stock prices of companies like TCS and Infosys. AI is a massively disruptive force, and calling it "dangerous" isn't entirely wrong.

But here's what I actually believe: AI is not dangerous to the people who learn to move with it. The people who get replaced are the ones who refuse to adapt. I still see many developers who don't use AI at all, and they loudly claim they'll never be replaced by it. I know the truth, and I think everyone does - they're afraid. They have a deep fear that AI will take their place.

I don't feel that fear. Why? Because I didn't invest anything for my education except my time. I have nothing to feel threatened about. And also, I never work without AI anymore. Going without it is simply not an option for me.

But there's a bigger truth I've discovered through experience: AI without us is crazy, and we without AI is also messy. AI needs humans, and humans need AI. Has anyone noticed that AI is not truly creative? It can't be creative on its own. A human has to be there, prompting it, guiding it, describing everything in detail. Without that human direction, AI just spits out stupid responses. I've seen it happen countless times.

When I start prompting, I'll go for 2 to 3 hours straight. In those prompts, I describe everything. I leave nothing to chance. This is how you prevent the AI from hallucinating or producing wrong outputs. Give the AI exactly what it needs, and it will give you exactly what you want. That's the honest, unfiltered truth of how this works.

Building a Full ERP System for a Real Business

My dad runs a company in Qatar called FluidMotion, a hydraulics-based maintenance company. In its starting phase, the company's financial structure was completely messy. Everything was unorganized.

So I built a full ERP system interface for them. I'm not exaggerating when I say it included everything:

• Job Creation - creating and tracking maintenance jobs
• Job Expenses - logging all costs tied to specific jobs
• Invoicing - generating and managing invoices
• Company Expenses - tracking overall business expenditures
• Full Company Analytics - complete dashboards and insights
• Salary Management - handling employee payroll
• Staff Management - managing personnel records
• Staff Advances - tracking advance payments to employees

I genuinely don't even fully realize the scale of what I built. I created it using PHP and MySQL, hosted on InfinityFree. It ran well, but the website faced consistent crashes and loading issues, so eventually I had to shut it down.

Here's the part that still surprises me: I built the entire ERP using a single chat with DeepSeek, completely free. One single chat session. I proved to myself that it could be done. Every day, I gained new experiences from that project, and I still carry those lessons with me now.

Veloredge Systems - My IT Company

I'm currently working on launching my own IT company, Veloredge Systems. This is not just a plan - I'm actively building toward it. Everything I've learned, from Python basics to full ERP development, from struggling with JavaScript to mastering AI-assisted development, is feeding into this vision.

What I Know and How I Work

If I had to summarize my toolkit and skills right now, here's what it looks like:

I didn't pay for expensive courses or invest years in formal education. I invested my time, my boredom, and my willingness to keep pushing when things got exhausting. AI is not my replacement - it's my amplifier. I know how to describe exactly what I want, and I know that the combination of human direction and AI execution is unstoppable.
